(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Signing the agreement on accepting the membership of Dans was held at the 34th annual conference of the organisation held in the Turkish capital of Istanbul. As many as 300 members representing 52 countries attended the conference. Omar Al Raeesi, strategic relationship manager at the air traffic engineering services department; Andrew Windsor, team leader compliance air traffic engineering in Dans; and Ahmed Al Obaidli, representative of the General Civil Aviation Authority in the UAE were present at the conference
Omar Al Raeesi said: "Joining this international organisation will provide the opportunity for more than 80 engineers working at the Dubai Air Traffic Engineering Services in Dans to have exposure to the international practices in this important sector, which sees major developments and updates in the field of technology related to the electronic air navigation.
Al Raeesi explained that a new association named Emirates Air Traffic Services Engineering Personnel has been established with the aim of creating an official organisational structure to accommodate the upgrading of the Dans employees
Al Raeesi added: "We have put together a strategic plan with a purpose to increase the scope of the association membership to include all personnel working in the air navigation engineering services in all airports of the UAE to further include employees of the region's airports to help create a knowledge sharing environment to exchange ideas, suggestions and experiences. We believe this will further strengthen the air navigation safety standards in the region.
