(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Some of the suspects were illegally staying in the country after the expiry of their visit visa, while others were found to be infiltrators.



The Sharjah Police recently arrested 12 suspects who reportedly specialised in stealing and dismantling some particular brand of cars before smuggling them outside the country



The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police found out that the suspects were from different nationalities including four from Pakistan while the remaining from Bangladesh



A probe was conducted by the Sharjah Police following several complaints lodged recently by 14 car owner whose cars were stolen. A security team formed by the CID suspected the involvement of one of the gang members. His arrest was followed by the arrest of the other suspects as well




It was also found out that some of the suspects were illegally staying in the country after the expiry of their visit visa, while others were found to be infiltrators



On arrest the suspects confessed to stealing the cars and that after robbing they used to dismantle them and smuggle them out of the country in order to sell the as spare parts



Based on their confession, the suspects are detained and will be referred to the Public Prosecution
