(MENAFN) The US is considering releasing the F-35 fighter jet to the Gulf earlier than planned as demand is coming strong, Arabian Business reported.
The selling the plane to the UAE and other Gulf countries came to light in the Dubai air show last month.
A senior US defense official said: "We in the Defense Department now recognize that there is significant interest there," adding that "we knew eventually we were going to have to face that question, but it's come upon us a little sooner than we thought and we're going to have to deal with it."
