Arab youth unemployment coasting USD50 b annually


(MENAFN) According to a new survey, between every four young Arabs there is one who is unemployed and the lost job opportunities cost the Arab world up to USD50 billion annually, according to Arabian Business. The poll by Arab Thought Foundation and conducted by PwC, showed the region faces a major challenge of providing nearly 80 million new jobs by 2020. The findings of the survey also shed light on the role of private sector in the region to drive growth and provide jobs to youth. As for the economic future across the region, participants from the GCC were the most optimistic about the economic outlook of the region. Youth in countries with poor natural resources said they believe that the economic conditions have weakened over the last 12 months.
