(MENAFN- Arab Times) Under the auspice of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the sixth festival to honor educators (Thank You My Teacher 6) was held Monday at the theater of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training in al-Shamiya area.
The festival coincides with educators celebrating the World Teachers' Day.
Arriving at the festivity scene at 10:30 am, the Amir was received by Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Moudhi Al-Humoud, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Teachers' Society Ayedh Mohammad Al-Sehali and members of the festival's higher organizing committee.
The event also saw the attendance of HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, National Assembly Speaker Jassem Mohammad Al-Kharafi, Deputy Chief of the National Guards Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Premier and Defense Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Acting Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, in addition to senior sheikhs and government officials.
The honoring ceremony kicked off by the National Anthem and recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a speech by Minister Al-Humoud In her speech, Dr Al-Humoud appreciated the Amir's generous and parental sponsoring of the festival, lauding at the same time unlimited support for the education sector.
On his part, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Teachers' Society Ayedh Mohammad Al-Sehali termed the festival "historic" due to the fact that the Amir is attending it, which grants it an added value.
Afterwards, a group of students performed a musical segment, followed by the honoring of distinguished educators.
The Amir was then gifted with a souvenir on the occasion before leaving the festivity scene.
