Kuwaiti fund, Cuba sign loan agreement at KD4.4m

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed a loan agreement with Cuba, at a value of KD 4,400 million to finance a project to rehabilitate the drinking water system in Holguin City. A KFAED press release added that it was represented in the signing ceremony by the Deputy Director General of KFAED Ghanem Al-Ghenaiman, while the Cuban side was represented by National Institute of Water Resources Rene Mesa. It added that the projects aims at improving the living conditions of Holguin City residents, by comprehensive rehabilitation of the drinking water system, and that the project is due to finish in four years. The release also mentioned that the project includes a number of tasks, including the rehabilitation of water purification and pumping plants, water networks, and water tanks, as well as the supply and installation of measuring devices. This loan is the second to be offered to Cuba by KFAED, following the loan of KD 3,1 million to finance the rehabilitation of dirking water system of Santiago de Cuba.
